More info

The Pineau des Charentes was created in the 16th century from the mistake of a winemaker who accidentally poured grape must into a « Cognac-eau-de-vie » barrel. No longer useful, this barrel was then stored and re-discovered a few years later... The Pineau des Charentes was born. Presumably from the 1970s, this Pineau des Charentes Ilrhea from the Coopérative Viticole de l'Île de Ré is a perfect bottle to discover or re-discover.
