1995 was a very nice year overall, an excellent vintage in some regions. However, it needed a few years to reveal its full potential.
Smooth weather conditions (cold winter, humid spring, hot and dry summer) contributed to an even development of the vine in the region. Harvests were generous, producing a powerful, concentrated and tannic red wine, similar to the 1990 vintage.
Memorable appellations : Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, Gigondas.
The 1995 Bordeaux vintage can be remembered for its bountiful harvest, favored by a very warm summer and heavy rains in september. These conditions led to rich and well-balanced wines, which finally fully expressed themselves after 15 years of ageing.
Memorable appellations : Pomelo, Saint-Emilion, Pauillac, Pessac Léognan
Harvests were high-quality though limited in volume due to the relatively fresh months of june and september. Grapes were carefully selected, producing wines with silky tannins and a beautiful acidity.
Memorable appellations : Côtes de Nuits, Côtes de Beaune
