A cold and damp spring in Bordeaux did not promote vine growth. 1965 was very difficult and did not help to produce high quality red wines.
In Bourgogne, due to the weather, harvests were late and vine growth turned out to be very delicate. However, milder weather conditions in october helped produce a small quantity of grapes.
A few successes to highlight : Château Pape Clément, a quality red wine, and Château Lascombes, a red Bordeaux wine which is very well-preserved. You may also want to try the first growth Chablis « Montée de Tonnerre », a very well-balanced white Bourgogne wine.
To offer an ancient wine is an excellent gift idea for an anniversary, a wedding or to simply make a wine collector happy since 1965 bottles are quite rare. They will delight any lover of ancient wines.
