Rare wine, 2010 vintage

Taking on the challenge of 2009 wasn't easy and the brutality of 2010's weather allowed for a spectacular demonstration of human expertise and skills. Frosts and leaks resulted in the lowest yield of the past 20 years but heat and sunshine created beautiful grapes, full of aromas, acids and color, the perfect fit for a fascinating gustatory poetry.

2010 experienced a harsh winter as well as late spring frosts which severely impacted the vines' cycle, especially in Alsace and Bourgogne. Mistreated by destructive frosts, Alsatian Gewurztraminers did not get the chance to show their full potential. Rieslings and Pinots, however, came out with a beautiful concentration, giving them the opportunity to reach their peak with a few years of aging.

Thanks to the talent and saving initiatives of Bourgogne winemakers, the region finally became the birthplace of a wine of rare quality. 2010 wines from Bourgogne, Bordeaux and southern Côtes-du-Rhône stand out through their generous aromatic concentration. The imposing acidity and tannins of 2010's red wines allow for a particularly patient aging quality.
