In Bourgogne, Bordeaux, Pomerol or any other french region, the 1943 wines were very successful for all vineyards.

Despite harsh weather conditions, every french region produced wines of admirable quality : even with the suffocating heat, Bordeaux managed to produce a somptuous wine though in limited quantities.

 

In Graves, the grape maturation was delayed due to the drought.

In Bourgogne, the late harvest was rewarded with full-bodied, ample wines, full of character and with a significant ageing potential.

 

The 1943 vintage’s specificity lies in its ability to produce uniform and successful french wines.

They stand out thanks to their extraordinary maturity, supple tannin and dark color.

 

There are so many 1943 successes that it is impossible to name them all. Here are a few : Mouton Rothschild, Margaux, Latour, Richebourg, Romanée Conti, La Tâche, Château Pavie and Meursault Patriarche Père & Fils.
