After a modest vintage in 1954, 1955 almost makes us forget about the disastrous weather conditions its elder suffered from.
The 1955 wines are exceptionally high quality. Even though the winter was freezing, the weather held its own and offered nice conditions for the rest of the year.
The september heat led to the production of fine Bordeaux wines. The red wines are very enjoyable with a slight acidic taste.
The right bank produced a nice 1955 vintage, with a price that was quite high at first but stabilized later on.
The Bourgogne vineyards produced deep, mature, rich and perfectly well-balanced wines with character.
Champagne and Vallée du Rhône also produced a beautiful and quality vintage : attractive wines and champagnes with good prices.
Almost every french region produced a very successful 1955 vintage. Here are a few examples of exceptional bottles : Côte Rôtie, Hermitage, Saint Julien, Margaux or Pauillac are perfect bottles to celebrate a happy event.
