Producing quality red wines exclusively, surrounded by Meursault and Monthélie in the southeast, and Pommard in the northeast. The produced white wines are included in the Meursault appellation. It includes fine and delicate first growths, famous and very appreciated by wine experts : Caillerets, Champans, Clos des Chênes and Clos des Ducs. Santenots, another first growth, is based in Meursault even though it is produced within the Volnay AOC.
Main grape varieties : Pinot noir.
Soils : Highly calcareous on hilltops, pebbly soil mid and downhill.
Style of wines :
Suave and elegant wines with delicate fragrances of violette and strawberry, developping complex aromas of prune and spices with age.
