Clos des Papes

Clos des Papes, jewel of the Avril family, is a renowned domaine producing great Châteauneuf-du-pape wines with an excellent ageing potential, very appreciated by wine lovers and composed of grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, muscadin, cournoise and vaccarèse (also known as brun argenté).

Clos de Papes is named after the Papal vineyard, of which it used to be part of. It owes its international reputation to the remarkable work of the Avril family, especially Paul Avril and his son Vincent who chose to produce only one red wine and one white wine as opposed to prestigious Cuvées.
