Château Montrose

Château Montrose is a prestigious and world-famous domaine producing great Saint-Estèphe wines. The produced red wines, ranked as Second Growth in 1855, are composed of 65% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. They are powerful, full-bodied and tannic wines, very appreciated by experts and lovers of prestigious wines for their aromatic range and great ageing potential, typical of this renowned appellation. In the 19^th century, Château Montrose's fallow lands were the property of Château Calon. Etienne Théodore Dumoulin decided to plant and cultivate vines, successfully, and build a castle. In 1855, the estate was rewarded with the prestigious Second Growth title.
