Vintage 2020 - Rare wine
Following the success of the 2018 and 2019 vintages, 2020 carries on beautifully. The 2020 vintage is above average with a style that is very different from its predecessors.
In Médoc, the favorable weather conditions produced classic and noble aristocratic wines. They are perfectly well balanced, similarly to 2010, 2016 or 2019. The Saint-Estèphe appellation stands out with a spectacular radiance in 2020 : the fruit’s freshness is very impressive !
In Bordeaux, the 2020 wines are characterized by their crispness, acidity and finishing notes of mint and pepper. Despite a low alcohol level, they are exquisite.
In Pessac Léognan however, the red wines are overrun by their alcohol level and lack of freshness. The heatwave produced a 2020 vintage which does not stand out due to a weak structure and overall lightness.
The white wines are not any better though there are a few successful bottles with a good balance of tonicity, acidity and bitterness.
